Product purpose:

Detection principle:
Glucose in the blood reacts with glucose oxidase on the test paper to produce a micro reaction current, and the current intensity changes with the concentration of glucose in the blood. The reaction current measured by the blood glucose detector is converted into the display of test results.

Ketosis in cows

Evaluation of conventional diagnostic methods

The content of blood ketone is a reliable indicator for the diagnosis of ketosis, among which BHBA is the most accurate.
The concentration of urine ketone fluctuates greatly and the test result is prone to false positive. The concentration of lactate ketone fluctuates less, but sensitivity is low.
 

Classification of ketosis

Type I ketosis: It is caused by a negative balance in postpartum energy metabolism and mainly occurs during the postpartum period of 2 to 4 weeks.
Type ll ketosis: It is the obesity syndrome, which mainly caused by fatty liver and usually occurs in 12 weeks after parturition.

Prevention of ketosis

The general principle is to prevent excessive reduction in prenatal feed intake, decrease body fat mobilization, increase postpartum feed intake, and reduce the degree and duration of negative energy balance.
Control the body condition of dry cows, avoid over-fertilization, and the dry cow's body condition score should be 3.5.
Rumen-protected choline in the stomach can reduce fat deposition in the liver during negative energy balance. Feed proper amount of glycogenic precursors. Critical period: 21 days before and after parturition.
