1. Product introduction:
The refractometer is designed according to the principle that liquids with different concentrations have different refractive indexes. It is an instrument that uses light to test liquid concentration - light refraction.
2. Product features:
It can detect the content of immunoglobulin in colostrum. It has the advantages of fast, accurate, light weight, convenient operation and carrying, clear vision, small volume and so on.
3. Operation method:
(1) Open the cover plate and wipe the detection prism with a clean flannel cloth;
(2) Take 1-2 drops of the solution to be tested with a dropper, drop it on the detection prism, and gently cover the
cover plate. If necessary, gently press the cover plate to make the solution evenly distributed on the prism to
avoid bubbles;
(3) Aim the light inlet plate of the instrument at the light source or bright place, and keep the instrument parallel to
the ground as far as possible (do not tilt up or fall down). Observe the scale inside through the eyepiece, and
slowly fine tune the eyepiece adjustment hand wheel until the scale can be clearly seen;
(4) At this time, you can clearly see the blue and white boundary in the instrument, and the scale value of the
boundary is the concentration of the solution.
4. Correction and temperature correction
The instrument needs to correct the zero point before measurement. Take a few drops of distilled water, drop it on the detection prism, and turn the screw to adjust the dividing line to the position of 0% of the scale. Then wipe the detection prism for detection. Some models of instruments need to be equipped with standard solution to replace distilled water during calibration.
Another method is (only suitable for the determination of sugar content): use the temperature correction table to add (or subtract) the temperature correction value from the value read at the ambient temperature to obtain the accurate value.
5. Precautions:
This instrument is a precision optical instrument. The following matters should be paid attention to in use and
maintenance:
(1) During use, it must be used carefully and in strict accordance with the instructions. It is not allowed to loosen the
connecting parts of the instrument arbitrarily, drop, collision and violent vibration.
(2) After use, it is strictly prohibited to wash directly in water. Wipe it with clean soft flannelette. The optical surface
shall not be bruised or scratched.
(3) The instrument shall be stored in a dry place without dust, oil stain, acid and other corrosive gases to avoid
corrosion or mildew of optical parts.
